Urban Glee NYC celebrates the emerging voices of today’s youth. It is committed to providing students with a safe space for creative and self-expression communicated through music and poetry. Working in a collaborative process, students explore how their own words and actions can impact their community.
In-School Programming
During these workshops and in-school residences students learn to express themselves by participating in a variety of activities. Our professional teaching artists/poets work with students and teachers, leading them through a series of writing activities, theater games and discussions. Students will be encouraged to create their own spoken word poetry and share their pieces with their classmates.
